Sam Umbaugh

Sam began performing in high school with Musical Theatre and Ballet. While at the University of Virginia, he joined their Ballroom Dance Club in 2013 and immediately fell in love with partner dancing. He has been dancing socially and competitively for more than 10 years now, including a 1st place at Collegiate Nationals in the Bolero event with his former partner, Peri Oxford. He has previously worked as a dance teacher at Ballroom Legacy in Sea Cliff, NY, and at Fred Astaire Dance Studios here in Cville. He currently teaches for the UVA Ballroom Dance Club. Sam loves helping others learn to dance, regardless of their prior experience or their goals. Some people just want to watch the world dance. Sam is one of those people.  Sam is a current board member of USA Dance Charlottesville.
